Burgos, Spain: New contract for the refurbishment of an existing MBT Plant by BTA
The importance of an effective removal of impurities before the anaerobic digestion of the organic waste fraction is once more underlined by a third project, in which the existing competitor?s wet mechanical pre-treatment is replaced due to unsatisfying results by the BTA® Hydromechanical Pre-treatment.
In October 2009 we received from UTE TRATAMIENTO BURGOS (CESPA and JOVILMA) the order for Advanced Engineering Works for the refurbishment of the above mentioned AD Plant, which will be operated by this Consortium during 15 years.
For a reliable operation of the methanization process from AD Plants for SSO, FORM or MSW, it is essential to efficiently remove the impurities before the anaerobic digestion step. Correctly done, the hydromechanical pre-treatment is the most effective way.
Consequently CESPA, which also operates other wet anaerobic digestion plants for FORM or MSW, chose BTA International as partner for this project and agreed to the replacement of the wet mechanical pre-treatment by the BTA® Hydromechanical Pre-treatment, as well as the exchange of the existing digester mixing system.
With Verona and the Ecoparc1 in Barcelona, this is the third waste treatment plant in which the BTA International and/or its partner Biotec Sistemi s.r.l. have been assigned with the refurbishment of the wet mechanical pre-treatment. Further enquiries and contacts show that the refurbishment of existing plants will establish as a new business area of our company.
