Suldouro (Portugal)

SULDOURO is the second MBT plant that the Consortium „EFACEC, Monte Adriano and BTA” successfully implemented in Portugal.

Similar to VALORLIS, again BTA International acted as technology provider and responsible partner for the main processes within the MBT Plant, delivering the key components as well as the control system that steers the overall installation. Furthermore, BTA supplied engineering services including the process engineering, procurement and installation supervision and start-up assistance and supervision.

The main processes in this plant include the mechanical pre-treatment, sorting of recyclable material from the fraction > 80 mm, the treatment of the fraction < 80 mm with the BTA^® Hydromechanical Pre-treatment, the processing of the cleaned organic suspension in a mesophilic wet anaerobic digestion, the dewatering of the digestate, a two stagecomposting with forced aeration for sanitation and stabilization of the dewatered digestate, an internal process water management and the treatment of the remaining effluent.
